Oh MAN! So I had alot of free time today, with today being Christman and all ( actually I think it’s after ( oh and Merry Christmas by the way)) but I just watched (on Youtube) the entire first season of The Spectacular Spider-man. It’s a new (I think it’s new) show on the kids WB or CW or whatever. Here’s a link. This show is amazing.
Like I said I spent all day watching the first ( and so far only) season of this show. But if your a fan of Spider-man, the movies, the old 90’s cartoon show, or superheroics at all, you MUST watch this show! It’s only 13 episodes long and just NAILS everything about Spider-man. It just nails it. I enjoyed … literally… every moment of this show. All of the villians work. Some are very unique takes. The Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and even the lesser known spidey bad guys such as Ryhno and the Shocker are done very very well. And their handling of Venom was almost perfect, the best yet.
And most importantly, they nailed Peter Parker! The drama, the girls, the awkward angst. It’s all here and all done with such, class. And it’s funny! Spider-man hasn’t been funny in awhile ( most interpretations outside the comic book ignore that about Spider-man.) I mean come on, it’s about a guy bitten by a spider. Sometimes taken too seriously. But man. I don’t wanna give too much away, but if you love the comics or the movies or Spider-man you MUST watch and support this show! I’m buyin the boxset whenever it comes out. And yes I know I know, it’s a cartoon, but give a couple of more season’s and it could be the greatest version of spidey ever ( aka like how the batman cartoon from the 90’s was the best version of batman)
I’m still geeked out about it. The entire show is on Youtube right now, so if it’s still on ( it should get taken down soon, y’know.. copyrights) watch it, and try and catch it on TV as well. That is all guys.
